Why Attend the Course?
Pelvic Floor Health and Dysfunction™ aims to dispel most of the myths regarding the functioning of the pelvic floor and the problems that seem to arise from the misinformation.
Attend this Pilates training to understand the function and attachments of all the pelvic floor muscles. A lot of our day to day activities actually do activate our pelvic floors and we should take this into consideration when we consciously exercise this area.
Learn about the anatomy of the two layers of pelvic floor muscles and how, when they are functioning correctly, we can eliminate most of the problems we are seeing today. You will learn the proper functioning of the pelvic floor and the exercises that will effectively both strengthen and stretch the pelvic floor.
This is will be followed by a series of movements that create health through release work, strengthening and stretching of this area. At the end of the course, you will:
– Understand the anatomy of the pelvis and pelvic floor
– Understand the function of the pelvic floor muscles and the surrounding muscle groups
– Understand the impact of the fascial connections through the pelvis
– Understand the changes that occur during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and menopause
– Understand dysfunction in the pelvic area to include SI joint dysfunction and pubis symphasis derangement
– Understand the importance of correct exercising of the pelvic floor and the effective cues to activate the area
– Experience a sample movement class to show how the pelvic floor is incorporated
