At BodyTree, we choose to practice and teach Mobility Fitness™ instead.

What is SAM?

Flexibility refers to the ability of a muscle or a group of muscles to lengthen Passively through a range of motion (ROM) and is only a component of Mobility.

MOBILITY is the ability to move a joint Actively through a ROM. Mobility takes into account the joint, the joint capsule (ligaments), the muscles crossing the joint and the nervous system (motor control).

Mobility must be coupled with appropriate stability to ensure integrity of joints and support structures – this is where STRENGTH of the joint stabiliser muscles comes in.

Strength and Mobility is what everyone should be seeking because it is applicable in real life situation. In other words, it is functional.


Why SAM?

A lot of time, pain is related to muscle shortening and/or weakness in the deep structural joint stabilisers muscles weakness. Unfortunately, some fitness professionals unknowingly contribute to this pain because of an ineffective exercise sequence and programming.

SAM is created to address hypertonic muscle spasm and stabilizers weakness to prepare the joints and muscles for Mobility Fitness™ and is the Foundation to all other movement disciplines.

What to expect at SAM

During the 2-day course, we take you through the optimal sequence of approaching your body or your client’s body for maximum results.

At the end of the course, you will have more than exercises in the following 5 areas to help your clients address their muscular imbalances in their Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Knee, Ankle and Spine caused by the modern-day lifestyles or sport activities.

• Myofascial Releases
• Passive Stretches
• Active Stretches
• Deep Stabilizer Activation drills
• Prime Mover Strength conditioning


Fitness professionals, personal trainers, group exercise instructors, yoga instructors, dance/movement teachers, Pilates teachers, health care providers, physiotherapists and other manual therapy workers.

Participants are strong encouraged to attend the Movement Anatomy™ series prior to this course for an effective practice.
