Next intake : Feb 2019

The BTA Comprehensive Pilates teacher training program is a 500-hour pedagogy program. The intention of the program is for every graduate to be proficient and ready to teach a group Pilates class; and/or private one-on-one Pilates sessions. The focus of the Comprehensive Pilates program is to instil, develop and refine a client-oriented approach to teaching Pilates – with or without Pilates apparatus.

The BodyTree Difference

The Comprehensive Pilates teacher training program is UNIQUE because:

As a student teacher, you will come to appreciate and understand THE LINK between:

– the mechanics of body movements (theory), and
how to apply that understanding to help your clients achieve their physical goals with exercises on the Mat, with props, and/or various Pilates apparatus including the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair & the Spine Corrector (movement)

2. It focuses on PEDAGOGY

pilates-teacher-training-program-2This program is more than being able to perform advanced Pilates pieces yourself, or about your clients being able to do that. The heart of the Comprehensive Pilates teacher training program is in its client-centric approach.

The focus is on the process of:

– assessing your client when they are moving
– making critical judgements about their strengths, challenges and imbalances
– deciding what your client needs
– understanding which pieces on which Pilates apparatus is the most relevant to your client at every stage of his/her practice
– understanding the intention of each Pilates movement on each apparatus so that the benefits of the exercise can be experienced by the client through relevant verbal and tactile cues.
